A man of quick temper acts foolishly but a man of discretion is patient. Proverbs 14:17

Lord it is very upsetting to be around someone that lets their temper fly. Feelings are often hurt and the hurt is often never erased.

How great it is to be a ‘man with patients’. Thank You Lord for those fortunate people that You have given that gift to.

Thank You for helping us when we cry out to You for help.

Thank You for Solomon’s wisdom.

Thank You Lord.

Amen

A wise man is cautious and turns away from evil but a fool throws off restraint and is careless. Proverbs 14:16

Lord thank you for helping us to be wise.

Thank You for insights You give us as we follow You and Your example.

Thank You for the wisdom that is ours for the asking.

We have much to thank You for and we do bow with thankful hearts today.

Thank You. Thank You Lord.

Amen

The simple believes everything but the prudent looks where he is going. Proverbs 14:15

Lord how good it is to know what direction we are going in before we start our journey.

Thank You Lord that when we keep our eyes on You ….we KNOW where we are going. We know that someday we will spend all eternity with You.

Thank You Lord.

Amen

Even in laughter the heart is sad and the end of joy is grief. Proverbs 14:13.

I like what the Living Bible says for this verse because it explains it so well. ‘Laughter cannot mask a heavy heart. When the laughter ends, the grief remains.’

Lord life is not always a ‘bowl of cherry’s’ as the saying goes. There is a lot of hurts and sadness and some of those saddest moments bring grieving.

Thank You for being there when we cry out to You Lord. Oh yes, the grief is still there but we know Your arms of love are around us.

Thank You for those humans and often animals You send our way to help us through those moments. They are Your angels and we thank You for each one.

You never leave us Lord and we are so grateful we have You. Thank You.

Thank You Lord.

Amen

There is a way which seems right to a man but its end is the way to death. Proverbs 14:12

Thank You Lord that we know the ‘right’ way.

Thank You that the ‘right’ way brings eternal life.

Thank You that we don’t have to wonder we ‘know’ and what a gift that is.

Oh how we praise and thank You.

Thank You Lord.

Amen

The house of the wicked will be destroyed but the tent of the upright will flourish. Proverbs 14:11

Lord we can certainly tell by this verse that we are not talking about our possessions. Solomon compares a house for the wicked vs a tent for the upright.

Lord it seems eventually we learn that what that scripture truly means when it says what a loss there is when we gain the whole world but lose our soul.

Thank You for making provisions for us to spend all eternity with You. What a great gift You have given us Lord. We don’t have to be rich and we don’t have to be poor. No matter how intelligent we are or aren’t. Your arms are open to all to come accept You as our Lord and Savior and walk with You. How blessed we are Lord and we bow in reverence and thanks.

Thank You Lord.

Amen

The heart knows its own bitterness and no stranger shares its joy. Proverbs 14:10

Lord there is a verse of scripture that tells us that we don’t always know what is in our hearts. You know and You care. Often when there is bitterness You have a wonderful way of helping us ‘give it up.’ Emotionally and often physically it is devastating. Thank You for Your help in forgiving and overcoming.

First we recognize it and then we can pray and ask Your help. Thank You for always being there to help and deliver.

Oh how thankful we are for Your unconditional love.

Thank You Lord. Thank You.

Amen

God scorns the wicked but the upright enjoy His favor. Proverbs 14:9

Lord – Solomon sure knew what life was all about. I’m sure he had things go on in his life just as we do and yet he could say ‘we enjoy Your favor.’ His wisdom told him that this was not our final resting place…..

Thank You Lord that even through our trials here on earth deep within our hearts we know that heaven is our home.

We know we are only passing through and You have promised to be with us each moment.

What great hope we have! What great joy it brings. You are always with us and we thank You.

Thank You Lord.

Amen.

The wisdom of a prudent man is to discern his way but the folly of the fools is deceiving. Proverbs 14:8

Lord thank You for being our leader and guide.

Thank You for only being a prayer away.

Thank You for helping ‘us’ discern our way when we follow Your pathway and directions.

Solomon’s wisdom helps us when we not only read what he says but take it into our lives and let it change us.

Thank You for giving him the wisdom we all need.

Thank You Lord.

Amen

Leave the presence of a fool, for there you do not meet words of knowledge. Proverbs 14:7

Lord these are words of true wisdom. Why waste time with someone that is out to lead you astray. Solomon was trying to teach his son the pitfalls of life and we sure can learn for his writing and the wisdom You have given him.

Thank You too for discernment. Some ‘fools’ are so cunning and believable it is frightening when we finally see them for who they are.

Oh how we appreciate You Lord and thank You for directing our pathway.

Thank You!

Thank You Lord.

Amen
