In a multitude of people is the glory of the king but without people a prince is ruined. Proverbs 14:28
Thank You Lord that just as the king needs people we too need people in our lives.

What a gift it is Lord to be given the gift of wisdom. It is a true gift to have what we call ‘common sense.’ It just makes living so much easier and I sure thank You for what You have given me.
Thank You too Lord for allowing us to ask You for wisdom.
As we read and think about the wisdom You gave Solomon we thank You for the insights You bring us.

In all toil there is profit but mere talk tends only to want. Proverbs 14:23
Lord I think what Solomon is trying to teach his son is that when you talk you don’t get any work done. When you don’t do your work you don’t have any money.
Certainly words well taken.
Thank You for the desire You put within us to work to take care of ourselves.
Thank You for the strength and wisdom to work in the job You have provided for us.
All are gifts from You Lord and I thank You.

Lord for those of us that love and serve You it is a true gift to be able to do something good for someone. It puts a smile on our face and a joy in our heart.

He who despises his neighbor is a sinner but happy is he who is kind to the poor. Proverbs 14:21
Lord in the verse before this one Solomon mentioned that the poor were disliked even by his neighbor. Now he is telling us that when we are kind to the poor we are happy.
Thank You Lord for showing us that this is Your ‘way.’ This is how You want us to live. Poor or rich makes no difference because we who know You will spend all eternity together with You.
Thank You Lord that You love each of us and how grateful we are for that.

The poor is disliked even by his neighbor but the rich has many friends. Proverbs 14:20
Lord in order to give this meaning for me I have to make this verse of Solomon’s spiritual.
Certainly there are many poor people that are loved by many and are delightful to be around.
BUT those that have a poor attitude and are wicked certainly fall into the words of this verse.
Thank You Lord for changing our lives from the inside out and helping us continue to change into Your likeness when we accept You as our Lord and Savior. It is amazing the transformation it makes in our lives and we thank and praise You for those changes.
It’s a life-long process and we know that Lord so we continue to grow and change. Thank You for those beautiful changes and the unconditional love You give us.
OH how we praise and thank You.

The evil bow down before the good, the wicked at the gate of the righteous. Proverbs 14:19
Lord …it seems what Solomon is describing is what we would call ‘con-artists’ today. Those that are always trying in some way to get money from those that have it because they don’t want to work.
Thank You for the wisdom and knowledge You give us so we don’t fall into their trap.
You gave this wisdom to Solomon to help us. Thank You for the lessons we are learning from him.
