The mind of him who has understanding seeks knowledge but the mouths of fools feed on folly. Proverbs 15:14

Lord, Solomon keeps talking and talking about knowledge and understanding. He wanted to be sure his son understood how important it was to keep his mind learning. He continues to point out the difference between those that do and those that follow their own foolish ways.

Thank You Lord for giving us minds that can learn and understand.

Thank You too Lord for giving us the desire to learn and understand. It is one thing to have the ability but quite another thing to use that ability.

Thank You for the Bible and our desire to listen to You and to learn and understand. That is Your gift to us and we thank You.

Thank You Lord.

Amen

There is sever discipline for him who forsakes the way; he who hates reproof will die. Proverbs 15:10

Lord it is often very hard to be disciplined. Who of us wants to be reproofed. I think the difference here that Solomon is talking about is the reproof that he as a father would give. A reproof that is done out of love. A reproof that could save his son’s life.

Thank You Lord for helping us through difficult times when we are shown the error of our ways.

Thank You for helping us change because of Your love for us that is unconditional.

Oh how we thank and praise You for Your love for us Lord.

Thank You for changing us into You image moment by moment.

A fool despises his father’s instruction but he who heeds admonition is prudent. Proverbs 15:5

Thank You Lord for fathers that love You.

Thank You for my own father. He loved You Lord and would tell us six children often that ‘God does it all.’ That still rings in my ears Lord long after he is gone from this earth. I was truly blessed and on this day after father’s day when we all have had a day to reflect on our fathers how fitting this verse would be here.

Solomon wanted his son to know that he needed to listen to his instructions and not only listen but to obey them. It was the smart thing for his son to do and it is the smart thing for us to do too.

Lord You are our Heavenly Father and we thank and praise You for Your unconditional love for each one of us.

Oh how we thank You! Thank You Lord.

Amen
