Thought For Today

(Jesus continued) “As for what was sown on good soil, this is he who hears the word and understands it; he indeed bears fruit, and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another sixty, and in another thirty. Matthew 13:23

Lord sometimes it takes going through all the things the seed went through for us to listen to Your still small voice and obey. You are always there and we thank You. You are waiting for us to finally yield to Your gentle call.

Thank You for those people that are in our lives that bring us Your gift of life.

Oh how grateful we are for Your unconditional love.

We do thank and praise You for all You are to us.

Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued talking to the crowd and His disciples.) “They (scribes and Pharisees) bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with their finger.” Matthew 23:4

Lord before You came to set us free everything was about the law and how well it could be followed. These men made the laws and then didn’t follow them but policed everyone to be sure they did. They were constantly pointing fingers at those that were not abiding by the law.

Lord we sure do thank You for coming to fulfill the law.

Thank You that we no longer are required to follow the law.

Thank You for dying for us and gives us eternal life with You.

What a gift!

And they (Jesus and the disciples) went into Capernaum; and immediately on the Sabbath He entered the synagogue and taught. Mark 1:21

How fortunate those that were in Capernaum that day. They were at the right place at the right time.

Lord each time I sit at Your feet to listen and write and I know how blessed I am. Thank You that we all can be at ‘the right place at any time’ because You are right there with us.

Oh how I thank You. Oh how I praise You. You are always with me. Thank You!

Lord as we walked with You and read Your words through Solomon’s written word we realize how much You love us.

Thank You for wanting us to be happy.

Your unconditional love is amazing and we thank You for it.

A good wife is the crown of her husband but she who brings shame is like rottenness in his bones. Proverbs 12:4

How true it is Lord and I have lived long enough to see the value in the beautiful women and the value they bring to the men in their lives. Oh by beautiful I am not talking Lord of their physical appearance I am talking of their inner beauty that shines for all around them to see. A beauty that comes from knowing and loving You and trying to be the best wives they can be to not only show honor and praise to their husbands but to bring honor and praise to Your name too Lord.

Thank You for helping us shine for You Lord. Thank You for helping us be the kind of woman (and men) that causes others to want to know You.

What a fitting verse this is for Valentine’s Day Lord. A day that is all about love. Thank You for love and the joy it brings. Oh how we thank You.

Thank You Lord for showing us Your path that brings peace and joy into our lives.

Oh what a pleasure to walk and talk with You each day.

Thank You for always being with us guiding and directing.

The ransom of a man’s life is his wealth but a poor man has no means of redemption. Proverbs 13:8

Lord Solomon knew that rich or poor didn’t matter because he knew You.

His trust was not in his money because he knew it could be there today and gone tomorrow. His only hope was in You.

Thank You Lord for these same promises for us today. We are Your children and we love You Lord.

Thank You for Your unconditional love.

Thank You Lord that our light will never be put out.

A soft answer turns away wrath but a harsh word stirs up anger. Proverbs 15:1

Lord these words from Solomon are certainly true. Often you hear a shouting match when two people disagree. The louder the one get the other person tries to outshout them. Nothing is settled because they are both too angry.

Thank You for reminding us that it is better to use soft words.

Thank You for Your gentle spirit within that reminds us.

Yes, it is a process Lord and we are on-board with You to help us get better and better.
