Blows that wound cleanse away evil; strokes make clean the innermost parts. Proverbs 20:30

Lord ….is Solomon trying to teach his son that there are times when he won’t like to be disciplined but the correction is good for him because it will heal his soul.

Lord this reminds me of the times when You have had to say NO to me when I wanted to hear YES. Not easy but You knew what was best for me.

Thank You Lord that we can trust Your leading and directing. Oh what a gift to us to be able to come to You in prayer and ask. Oh how I thank You.

Thank You Lord.

Amen

The glory of young men is their strength but the beauty of old men is their gray hair. Proverbs 20:29

Lord this is an interesting verse. I wonder if Solomon was trying to teach his son that there was value in having white hair. These were the men that had been on this earth longer and because of that they knew a lot more. They had more experiences.

Solomon says there is beauty in old men’s gray hair and yet in our quest to be young today many color their hair.

Thank You for helping us see life through the wisdom of Solomon.

Thank You for Your wisdom that is always there when we ask.

Thank You Lord.

Amen

Loyalty and faithfulness preserve the king and his throne is upheld by righteousness. Proverbs 20:28

Lord ….Solomon had learned and knew a lot to share with his son. I’m glad this book is here for us to learn too. How true it is that loyalty and faithfulness not only preserve the king they preserve us too.

Thank You for helping us each day Lord.

Thank You for being there whenever we turn to You in prayer.

We are blessed and we thank You.

Thank You Lord.

The spirit of man is the lamp of the Lord, searching all his innermost parts. Proverbs 20:27

Lord to know You is to love You. You know all about us. You know our thought and You light our way. What a gift it is to trust You and follow You. Thank You for ALWAYS showing us Your perfect way. Oh how we thank You.

Thank You Lord.

A wise king winnows the wicked and drives the wheel over them. Proverbs 20:26

Lord I think what Solomon is saying to his son is that a wise king doesn’t let the wicked get by with what they are doing. He stops their actions.

Lord what a gift it is to have Godly leaders that love You and follow You.

Thank You for allowing us the gift of praying for those that are our leaders. Prayer changes things and people and I thank You for allowing us to pray. Thank You for hearing and answering.

Thank You Lord.

Amen

It is a snare for a man to say rashly, “it is holy,” and to reflect only after making his vows. Proverbs 20:25

Lord once again Solomon is warning his son about those that are not telling the truth. They that say something but what they say is what they think you want to hear. There is no truth in their thoughts or actions.

Thank You Lord for giving us the desire to be truthful.

Thank You for helping us make wise choices.

We need You Lord and thank You for changing us moment by moment into Your image.

Thank You Lord.

Amen

A man’s steps are ordered by the Lord; how then can man understand His ways? Proverbs 20:24

Oh my goodness Lord this is so true and something that Solomon’s son needed to learn.

Our lives are certainly in Your hands Lord. There are so many things that happen in our lives that humanly we never understand but You know…..You guide…You direct….You give us peace in the midst of the storms of life. Oh how we thank You that You know and You love us unconditionally. Thank You!

Thank You Lord.

Diverse weights are an abomination to the Lord and false scales are not good. Proverbs 20:23

Lord we all hate cheaters and liars. Solomon wanted his son to know that not everyone was honest.

Lord in my lifetime I have had to depend on Your wisdom because not being raised with dishonest people it was hard to discern who they were. Oh how I thank You that I could turn to You for wisdom just as Solomon did. Thank You for always being there to listen. What a gift. What a joy. Thank You!

Thank You Lord.

Amen

Do not say, “I will repay evil;” wait for the Lord and He will help you. Proverbs 20:22

Lord Solomon was teaching his son a valuable lesson. It is a valuable lesson for us to learn too. It’s a lesson that without Your help is very hard to do. Thank You for Your guidance and help. We need You Lord and we thank You.

Thank You Lord.

An inheritance gotten hastily in the beginning will in the end not be blessed. Proverbs 20:21

Lord we all remember the prodigal son that wanted his inheritance early and then squandered it away.

Solomon certainly knew what he was saying to his son.

Thank You Lord for teaching us by the examples that are before us. We watch, we listen, we learn when we let You guide and direct us. Oh how we thank You.

Thank You Lord.

Amen
