It is better to live in a desert land than with a contentious and fretful woman. Proverbs 21:19

Lord …. Solomon had warned his son about women before. I have always wondered if he knew that from his own experience.

Thank You Lord that You can take even the most contentious and fretful woman and change her. Your power to change lives is awesome. Amazing! Thank You.

Thank You Lord.

Amen

The wicked is a ransom for the righteous and the faithless for the upright. Proverbs 21:18

Lord one thing struck me when I read Solomon’s word. He doesn’t try to be politically correct. He does try and walk down the middle of the road so he doesn’t offend anyone. He called the wicked people just what they are ‘wicked.’

Thank You Lord for honesty.

Thank You for Solomon.

Thank You that the wicked will not win in the end. You are Lord. You are the winner. Thank You.

Thank You Lord.

Amen

He who loves pleasure will be a poor man; he who loves wine and oil will not be rich. Proverbs 21:17

Lord thank You for helping us discern what is good for us.

I’m sure that Solomon was trying to teach his son was balance.

We all need balance in our lives Lord and so often it is easy for us to get out of balance. At times we get out of balance for all good causes because we can’t say ‘No.” Thank You for helping us listen to Your guidance. We need that Lord and thank You for being there when we call out to You. Thank You.

Thank You Lord.

Amen

A man who wanders from the way of understanding will rest in the assembly of the dead. Proverbs 21:16

Thank You Lord for being our teacher.

Thank You for not only teaching us but we can call on You to help us learn what You are teaching.

Thank You for keeping us on Your pathway.

Thank You Lord.

When justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous but dismay to evil doers. Proverbs 21:15

Lord how wonderful it is when there are those in our lives that do the right and loving things. Thank You for each one of them. What a delight and joy they are to be around. They just have the wisdom to do the right thing.

I am grateful Lord for those in my life that love and obey You. What a gift. What a joy. Thank You for each one of them.

Thank You Lord.

Amen

But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices which they had prepared. And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb but when they went in they did not find the body. Luke 24:1, 2

Thank You Lord for the victory won when You rose from the tomb.

Thank You for going to prepare a place for us to join You.

While today we reflect on your death we know that Sunday is coming and we will be filled with joy and excitement.

We have much to praise and thank You for. Thank You.

Thank You Lord.

Amen

A gift in secret averts anger; and a bribe in the bosom, strong wrath. Proverbs 21:14

Lord how wonderful it is to give someone a gift without them knowing who gave it. It is especially thrilling when it is something they need or want.

Solomon being a very rich man must have known the thrill he had received in giving. He wanted his son to know there was great satisfaction in giving.

Lord You gave us the greatest gift of all when You came to earth and died for us. This was Your gift to each one of us and we thank You.

Thank You Lord.

Amen

He who closes his ear to the cry of the poor will himself cry out and not be heard. Proverbs 21:13

Lord it seems Solomon wanted to be sure his son took care of the poor. We read that request often in his writings.

How thankful I am that there were those that were there for my family to be sure we had what was needed to survive. Often I have thought of them and thanked You for each one and prayed You would bless them for their kindness.

Oh how I thank You for the love that we all can share when we give. Thank YOU!

Thank You Lord.

Amen

The righteous observes the house of the wicked; the wicked are cast down to ruin. Proverbs 21:12

Lord how good it is to know that we don’t have to experience everything in life to know what isn’t good for us.

Solomon was teaching his son that he could see things that were wrong to do and not do them.

That is a great lesson for us too Lord.

Thank You for Your insights and lessons learned.

Thank You Lord.

Amen

When a scoffer is punished, the simple becomes wise; when a wise man is instructed, he gains knowledge. Proverbs 21:11

Lord thank You for the opportunity to sit at Your feet and learn. We are the wise that are gaining knowledge and we thank You.

You are always there to listen and we thank You.

Thank You Lord.

Amen
