Like the cold of snow in the time of harvest is a faithful messenger to those who send him, he refreshes the spirit of his master. Proverbs 25:13
Lord I want to be that faithful messenger that is refreshing to Your spirit. What a wonderful message Solomon is presenting to his son. He is teaching him the value of being all You have called him to be. Solomon was giving his son the tools to have a thankful heart. Thank You Lord for changing us into Your image and helping us become more and more like You.
Thank You Lord.
Amen.

What your eyes have seen do not hastily bring into court; for what will you do in the end when your neighbor puts you to shame? Argue your case with your neighbor himself and do not disclose another’s secret; lest he who hears you bring shame upon you and your ill repute have no end. Proverbs 25:8 – 10
Lord there are some things in life that become very hard to decide the best course of action. Solomon was trying to teach his son not to be so hasty in his decisions.
Lord we need to hear that also because it is so easy for our emotions to take over and often we regret our words and actions. Thank You for being with us to help and guide us. Thank You for only being a prayer away. We need You Lord and are thankful You are there.
Thank You Lord.
Amen

As the heavens for height and the earth for depth, so the mind of kings is unsearchable. Take away the dross from the silver and the smith has material for a vessel; take away the wicked from the presence of the king and his throne will be established in righteousness. Do not put yourself forward in the king’s presence or stand in the place of the great; for it is better to be told, “Come up here,” than to be put lower in the presence of the prince. Proverbs 25:3 – 7
Words of wisdom from Solomon to his son. Without You in our lives or the king’s life there would be no direction. You make the difference Lord and we thank You.
Thank You Lord.
Amen

These also are proverbs of Solomon which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah copied. It is the glory of God to conceal things but the glory of kings is to search things out. Proverbs 25:1, 2
Lord….Your ways are certainly different than our ways and so often we wonder why things are the way they are. We only see through the glass darkly and cannot see what You know. So often down the road we see the reason. You know. You care. You provide. Thank You.
Thank You Lord.
Amen

Be not a witness against your neighbor without cause and do not deceive with your lips. Do not say, “I will do to him as he has done to me; I will pay the man back for what he has done.” Proverbs 24:28, 29
Lord ….What Solomon is telling his son to do doesn’t come natural for us. Often our human nature wants to get even.
Thank You Lord for showing us the better way to be. Thank You for helping us remember that You paid the price for us and we certainly didn’t deserve it. Thank You for loving us unconditionally.
Thank You Lord.
Amen

Prepare your work outside, get everything ready for you in the field; and after that build your house. Proverbs 24:27
Lord as I have read through this Book it is obvious that Solomon was a very hard worker. In his wisdom he knew just what to do and how to act.
Here he is telling his son to get his field ready first. Logical ….because that way he would have food and income.
Thank You for the lessons we have learned from Solomon’s wisdom. His wisdom came from You. He was blessed by it and now we are too. Thank You!
Thank You Lord.
Amen

He who says to the wicked, “You are innocent,” will be cursed by peoples, abhorred by nations; but those who rebuke the wicked will have delight, and a good blessing will be upon them. He who gives a right answer kisses the lips. Proverbs 24:24 – 26
Lord we all want to see the wicked removed. It isn’t often that easy and many have lost their lives trying to bring peace.
Solomon is teaching his son that a good blessing would be upon him if he rebuked the wicked.
Thank You for the many promises there are that encourage us to stand for what is right. It is not always easy to do but the rewards are great.
Thank You Lord.
Amen

These also are sayings of the wise. Partiality in judging is not good. Proverbs 24:23
Lord our human nature often gets in our way apart from Your love working in our lives. It is often hard not to be judgmental and partial. Seems just when we try not to be something happens in our life that makes us realize how much we need Your unconditional love. We fall so short of what You are calling us to be and we thank You for picking us up and teaching us yet another lesson. Thank You for ALWAYS loving us and ALWAYS being there for us.
Thank You Lord.
Amen

My son, fear the Lord and the king and do not disobey either of them; for disaster from them will rise suddenly and who knows the ruin that will come from them both? Proverbs 24:21, 22
Thank You Lord for Your unconditional love.
Thank You for loving us enough to die for us.
Thank You for the joy in serving You.
You are with us each moment of our lives and I thank You and praise You.
Thank You Lord.
Amen

Do not rejoice when your enemy falls and let not your heart be glad when he stumbles; least the Lord see it and be displeased and turn away his anger from him. Proverbs 24:17, 18
Thank You Lord for teaching us that ‘vengeance is mine….thus sayeth the Lord’.
Certainly Solomon had learned that lesson and wanted his son to learn it too.
It’s very hard, apart from Your help, not to be happy. Thank You for those insights You alone can give us that enable us to let You deal with the person.
We need Your help Lord and You are always there. Thank You.
Thank You Lord.
Amen
