Like a muddied spring or a polluted fountain is a righteous man who gives way before the wicked. Proverbs 25:26
Lord…Solomon was warning his son that he needs to stay on the pathway with You. He was giving his son the picture of what it was like for those that didn’t and lost their way.
Thank You Lord for helping us stay close to You.
Thank You for the gift of Your unconditional love. A love that calls us to You.
How comforting it is to know that You are always there Lord and we thank You.
Thank You Lord.
Amen

Like cold water to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country. Proverbs 25:25
Lord I remember the days when we waited to hear from a loved one that lived far from us. It was so exciting when we heard all was okay.
Solomon is drawing this comparison for his son to understand how good it was to experience God’s love and acceptance.
After I read this verse it immediately made my mind go to how quickly today we can stay in contact with anyone we want to. No more waiting…no more wondering…. We are so very, very fortunate today and I thank You.
Thank You Lord.
Amen

The north wind brings forth rain; and a backbiting tongue, angry looks. It is better to live in a corner of the housetop than in a house shared with a contentious woman. Proverbs 25:23, 24
Lord once again Solomon is trying to protect his son. There was so much for him to learn and Solomon says the same things over and over to him in a little different way. These things he is teaching his son are words of wisdom for us today.
Thank You for helping us see what You want us to see and then to not only see but to ask You to help us change.
Thank You for only being a prayer away.
Thank You Lord.
Amen

If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink; for you will heap coals of fire on his head, and the Lord will reward you. Proverbs 25:21, 22
Lord this is not what anyone that does not know You would ever think. Solomon knew You and wanted his son to follow in his footsteps. He wanted him to come from a loving heart.
Thank You for helping us love our enemies Lord. Without Your help we couldn’t do it. Thank You for showing us the better way.
Thank You Lord.
Amen

He who sings songs to a heavy heart is like one who takes off a garment on a cold day, and like vinegar on a wound. Proverbs 25:20
Lord once again Solomon uses illustrations to show his son how to get along with others. Here he is showing him when someone is sad singing to them is not what they need.
Thank You Lord for Your wisdom and help when we ask for it.
Thank You Lord.
Amen

A man who hears false witness against his neighbor is like a war club, or a sword, or a sharp arrow. Proverbs 25:18
Lord ….it seems to me that Solomon is teaching his son to always come from the loving side. False witness ……no truth to what is being said at all. Sad but true all too often this happens even today.
Thank You Lord for showing us the way to come from love.
Thank You for helping us in all areas of our lives.
Thank You Lord.
Amen
