Like a dog that returns to his vomit is a fool that repeats his folly. Proverbs 26:11
Lord… Solomon certainly used an example that we all can understand. Rather gross but non-the-less very true. His son could certainly understand it and not forget it.
Thank You for teaching us Lord because we can understand and remember this example too.
Thank You Lord.
Amen

Like an archer who wounds everybody is he who hires a passing fool or drunkard. Proverbs 26:10
Lord….Solomon wanted to be very sure that his son used the wisdom he was giving him in watching out for the fools that would so often be after him. Solomon had great wealth and therefore his son would also have a lot of money. Money would make the ‘fools’ try and get some of the money away from him. Solomon was trying to teach his son to be wise and not let that happen. He is showing him in many different ways how it could happen and what those results would be.
Thank You Lord that You are teaching us to be wise and keep our eyes and ears open too.
Thank You for helping us each step of our way on our journey called life.
Thank You Lord.
Amen

Like one who binds the stone in the sling is he who gives honor to a fool. Like a thorn that goes up into the hand of a drunkard is a proverb in the mouth of fools. Proverbs 26:8, 9
Lord it is obvious by all the verses we have had already that Solomon wanted to protect his son from the fools. Here again he is telling him how useless it is to be around them.
Thank You Lord for helping us stay away from the fools in this world. Thank You for guiding us. You are with us and we thank You.
Thank You Lord.
Amen

Like a lame man’s legs, which hang useless, is a proverb in the mouth of fools. Proverbs 26:7
Lord this verse certainly needs no explanation. Solomon’s son certainly could understand what his father was trying to tell him. It is a lesson we too can learn. No use trying to tell someone when they don’t want to hear.
Thank You Lord for giving us the wisdom and knowledge to learn and enjoy learning.
Thank You for teaching us.
Thank You Lord.
Amen

A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the back of fools. Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you be like him yourself. Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes. Proverbs 26:3 – 5
Lord….thank You for helping us discern who the ‘fools’ of this world are.
Solomon wanted his son to be wise and therefore reminds him over and over to be careful who he trusts.
How true that is for us today Lord. Thank You for only being a prayer away.
Thank You Lord.
Amen

Like a sparrow in its flitting, like a swallow in its flying, a curse that is causeless does not alight. Proverbs 26:2
Lord…Solomon certainly wanted his son to be wise and always do the right thing. He was teaching him how to survive in this world but to do it in a loving and caring way. These are lessons we all need to know and we thank You for helping us learn.
Thank You for helping us learn each lesson because they change our lives from the inside out.
Thank You Lord.
Amen

Like snow in summer or rain in harvest, so honor is not fitting for a fool. Proverbs 26:1
Lord….Solomon loved his son. He was doing his best to help him survive in this world. He was using illustrations that his son could understand and remember. This is one of those illustrations.
Thank You Lord for teaching us through the eyes of Solomon’s child. We are learning too Lord and we thank You.
Thank You Lord.
Amen

A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls. Proverbs 25:28
Lord ….. Solomon certainly needed to teach his son self-control.
Self-control is harder for some to learn than for others to learn. It is something we all need.
Thank You for helping us grow and change. We need You Lord and we thank You.
Thank You Lord.
Amen

It is not good to eat too much honey, so be sparing of complimentary words. Proverbs 25:27
Thank You Lord for Solomon’s wisdom. It was a gift from You to all of us. The things he was teaching his son are still good for us to learn today. Certainly this verse has a lot of truth in it.
Often those words that are spoken to us are to take down our senses and make us very vulnerable. They are only used to ‘con’ us.
Thank You for giving us the gift of discernment that helps us know the truth.
Thank You Lord.
Amen
