As in water face answer to face, so the mind of man reflects the man. Proverbs 27:19

Thank You Lord for giving us the choice of accepting You as Lord of our life.

It seems more and more I realize what a tremendous gift You gave me as a child of eight when I ask You to come into my life. You have walked with me ever since. You have been with me to guide and direct each moment of my life. What a fantastic gift and oh how I praise and thank You for ALWAYS being with me.

Thank You Lord.

Amen

He who tends a fig tree will eat its fruit and he who guards his master will be honored. Proverbs 27:18

Lord thank You for Solomon’s wisdom and reminders to all of us on how to live our lives.

We so often know the right thing to do and yet in our humanness don’t follow through on what we know to do. Thank You for Your help. You are only a prayer away and I thank You.

Thank You Lord.

Amen

Iron sharpens iron and one man sharpens another. Proverbs 27:17

Lord ….learning is a wonderful gift. That is what I think Solomon wanted his son to realize. He wanted him to pick the right friend. As friends they could learn from each other.

Thank You Lord for all I have learned from my family and friends. I have truly been blessed and I thank You.

Thank You Lord.

Amen

A continual dripping on a rainy day and a contentious woman are alike; to retrain her is to restrain the wind or to grasp oil in his right hand. Proverbs 27:15, 16

Lord… Solomon wanted his son to be very wise in choosing the woman he would spend the rest of his life with. I think he wanted him to realize what so many books tell us today ….. ‘she is who she is and that is who she will be. You can’t change her.’

Lord the wonderful news is that You can change us. I have seen it. I have experienced it. You ARE a life changing Lord and I thank You.

Thank You Lord.

Amen

He who blesses his neighbor with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, will be counted as cursing. Proverbs 27:14

Lord…. Solomon uses the most interesting examples and this certainly is something we can understand yet today. What person would do such a thing that was courteous or caring.

Thank You Lord that You have given us the desire to care about others and their feelings.

Thank You for the joy there is in having good neighbors that care.

Thank You Lord.

Amen

Take a man’s garment when he has given surety for a stranger and hold him in pledge when he gives surety for foreigners. Proverbs 27:13

Lord….Solomon was trying to teach his son not to pay a debt for someone he did not know. We have read over and over Solomon’s words to his son. Solomon was very rich and his son would be even richer. Solomon knew there would be many that would come asking for money and favors. Solomon continued to warn his son and share his wisdom.

Thank You Lord for sharing Solomon’s wisdom with us. Thank You for helping us listen and obey.

Thank You Lord.

Amen

A prudent man sees danger and hides himself; but the simple go on, and suffer for it. Proverbs 27:12

Lord how we thank You for helping us see danger and protect ourselves.

Thank You for the wisdom You provide.

Thank You for ALWAYS being there for us.

Thank You Lord.

Amen

Your friend and your father’s friend, do not forsake; and do not go to your brother’s house in the day of your calamity. Better is a neighbor who is near than a brother who is far away. Be wise, my son, and make my heart glad, that I may answer him who reproaches me. Proverbs 27:10, 11

Lord it is wonderful when like Solomon we can look at our friends and know that our children do the right thing.

Thank You for children that grow up and follow Your steps.

Thank You for those that love You and listen to Your guidance.

What a gift and what a blessing they are Lord and we thank You.

Thank You Lord.

Amen

Oil and perfume make the heart glad but the soul is torn by troubles. Proverbs 27:9

Lord we have often said, ‘What would we do without the Lord.’

This verse certainly reminds us of how much we need You. It is You that helps us in our times of trouble. It is You that brings us hope. We thank and praise You Lord that You are ALWAYS with us.

Thank You Lord.

Amen

Like a bird that strays from its nest, is a man who strays from his home. Proverbs 27:8

Lord ….I think Solomon wanted his son to know that just as a bird was safe when in its nest he would be safe when in his home. He wanted him to realize there was safety within his home.

It is a wonderful gift Lord to have a home we can feel safe in and we thank You for that gift.

Thank You Lord.

Amen
