Thought For Today

There are many who say, “O that we might see some good! Lift up the light of Thy countenance upon us. O Lord!” Thou hast put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and wine abound. Psalms 4:6, 7

Thank You Lord for Your joy. David knew all about Your joy and knew that nothing could make him as happy as You could. Riches didn’t bring the joy You brought.

Thank You for the joy You give us as we keep our lives centered in Your desires for us. Your are with us each moment and we praise and thank You.

Offer right sacrifices and put your trust in the Lord. Psalms 4:5

Lord how blessed we are that You came to earth and paid the price so we no longer have to offer sacrifices. Our lives are changed today because You came to earth to die for each one of us. Thank You for showing us the way and helping us trust You. We love You Lord and our hearts are full of gratitude for all You have done for us.

Be angry, but sin not; commune with your own hearts, on your beds, and be silent. Psalms 4:4

Lord thank You that we can talk with You in prayer at any time of the day or night. It is such a comfort in the night when I cannot sleep to thank You for being there with me. It is wonderful to be able to bring the needs of the day to You. Then there are those to pray for that need Your healing touch ….. You listen ….and their lives are changed. You are always there loving us unconditionally. Oh how we thank You.

O men, how long shall my honor suffer shame? How long will you love vain words and seek after lies? But know that the Lord has set apart the godly for Himself; the Lord hears when I call to Him. Psalms 4:2, 3

Lord ….David knew what we know that You hear us when we call out to You. Thank You that we never need to have a doubt but always know You hear us. You are always with us. Oh what peace that is and we thank You.

Answer me when I call, O God of my right! Thou hast given me room when I was in distress. Be gracious to me and hear my prayers. Psalms 4:1

Thank You Lord for the assurance that You will always hear us when we cry out to You. Thank You that You will always hear our prayers.

Thanks You for guiding us each step of the way when we ask You to.

We are truly blessed and we thank and praise You.

Arise, O Lord! Deliver me, O my God! For thou dost smite all my enemies on the cheek, thou dost break the teeth of the wicked. Deliverance belongs to the Lord; thy blessing be upon Thy people. Psalms 3:7, 8

Thank You Lord for blessing us Your people.

Thank You for the joy we have because of Your promises.

Lord You often remind us that this world is not our home and we thank You for going to prepare a place where we will be with You forever and ever.

These are our blessings and we thank You.

Thank You Lord for the peace that passes all understand in the midst of the storms of life.

David is a great example for us. There were tens of thousands of people and yet he was calm because he knew You were watching over him.

Thank You for Your peace. Thank You for Your joy. Thank You for Your protection. Thank You for Your unconditional love.

I lie down and sleep; I wake again, for the Lord sustains me. Psalms 3:5

Lord how wonderful it is to lie down and not be afraid.

David was running from his son Absalom and yet he could say ‘I lie down and sleep.’

Thank You Lord for freedom from fear. Thank You for a good night’s sleep. Thank You for being with us every moment of every day.

I cry aloud to the Lord, and He answers me from His holy hill. Psalms 3:4

Thank You Lord that You answered David when he cried out to You and You answer us when we cry out to You. Life is a journey. A journey where we have the choice of staying close to You. We never know on this journey when we are going to need to cry out to You. As we walk and talk with You on this journey we know You are right there to hear our cries for help. What a comfort. What peace it brings. Thank You!

This is a Psalm of David when he fled from Absalom his son.

O Lord, how many are my foes! Many are rising against me; many are saying of me, there is no help for him in God. But thou O Lord, art a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head. Psalms 3:1, 2

Lord it is a wonderful gift to be able to say what David says to You. You are that very same God that is there for us today. You are our shield …..You certainly are our glory….and when we look to You we find peace and joy. Oh how we praise and thank You.
