Thought For Today

For all His ordinances were before me, and His statutes I did not put away from me. I was blameless before Him, and I kept myself from guilt. Therefore the Lord has recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in His sight. Psalms 18:22 -24

Thank You Lord for loving us so much. Thank You for helping us become more and more like You. David enjoyed pleasing You and talks about it. We too love to please You Lord. Thank You for teaching us day by day.

Lord …it is wonderful at the end of the day to be able to look back and evaluate all that has happened and say like David ….it was a good day. Yes there was sadness. Yes there was joy. And YES You heard each prayer and I thank You. Thank You that nothing is too big or too small for You. Thank You for the many blessing of each day as we look to You with trust. You are ALWAYS there.

Thank You Lord for the great reward we are given every day that we walk and talk with You. There is a peace and joy that is deep within our souls. We are content. We love You Lord and thank You.

David continued …. They came upon me in the day of my calamity; but the Lord was my stay. He brought me forth into a broad place; He delivered me, because He delighted in me. Psalms 18:18, 19

Thank You Lord for delighting in us that love You and follow You. David knew You delighted in him. It is good I am reading this today because I want to thank You for delighting in ME. Am I perfect Lord…. Oh no! And yet You still delight in me. Thank You for loving me unconditionally. What awesome thoughts to dwell on today. Thank You! I love You Lord.

Then the earth reeled and rocked; the foundations also of the mountains trembled and quaked, because He was angry. Smoke went up from His nostrils and devouring fire from His mouth; glowing coals flamed forth from Him. He bowed the heavens and came down; thick darkness was under His feet. He rode on a cherub, and flew; He came swiftly upon the wings of the wind. He made darkness His covering around Him, His canopy thick clouds dark with water. Out of the brightness before him there broke through his clouds hailstones and coals of fire. The Lord also thundered in the heavens, and the Most high uttered His voice, hailstones and coals of fire. And he sent out His arrows, and scattered them; He flashed forth lightnings, and routed them. Then the channels of the sea were seen, and the foundations of the world were laid bare, at Thy rebuke, O Lord, at the blast of the breath of Thy nostrils. He reached from on high, He took me, He drew me out of many waters. He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from those who hated me for they were too mighty for me. Psalms 18:7 – 17

Lord…David was so explicit in how he described what was happening in his life. In the end he knew it was You Lord that helped him. It was all to hard for him and that was why he cried out to You for help.

Thank You Lord that You are the same Lord today over our lives. We can trust You today just as David did all those years ago. You are right here with me today and I thank You.

The cords of death encompassed me, the torrents of perdition assailed me; the cords of Sheol entangled me, the snares of death confronted me. In my distress I called upon the Lord; to my God I cried for help. From His temple He heard my voice, and my cry to Him reached His ears. Psalms 18:4 – 6

Lord …Thank You that You are always there to hear our cries.

Yesterday we read how happy David was when all was going well in his life. He felt safe because of You Lord. Today we see the other side of his life as he cries out to You to deliver him. In the end he knew You were there. He knew You heard his cries.

Lord we are so much like David. Thank You for ALWAYS being there for us too.

The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies. Psalms 18:2 – 5

Lord … You were everything to David. He depended upon You for everything he needed. He was rescued from Saul and all those that were after him and he was grateful. He says,….. You are worthy to be praised.

Lord I thank You that You are all those same thing to us today. You are our rock and deliverer. You lead and guide us every step of the way in our lives today. You are our comfort in those sad moments in life. We know You are there because You promised to never leave us or give us more than we could bear. Like David we praise and thank You.

O that deliverance for Israel would come out of Zion! When the Lord restores the fortunes of His people, Jacob shall rejoice, Israel shall be glad. Psalms 14:7

Lord we like David are certainly thankful when prayers are answered and we get what we are praying for. Thank You for answered prayer. Thank You for asking us to come to You with every request. Thank You for hearing each prayer and answering in the way You know is best for us.

Arise, O Lord! confront them, over-throw them! Deliver my life from the wicked by Thy sword, from men by Thy hand, O Lord, from men whose portion in life is of the world. May their belly be filled with what Thou hast stored up for them; may their children have more than enough; may they leave something over to their babes. As for me, I shall behold Thy face in righteousness; when I awake, I shall be satisfied with beholding Thy form. Psalms 17:13 – 15

Lord it is obvious by his words that David knew You and loved You. He was happy to wake each morning and know You were with him. He knew he could come to You at any time of the day or night with his requests. He feared for his life but he knew You were with him.

Thank You for David’s great example for us. We too trust You. We too love You. We are thankful for Your presence with us each moment of each day.
