Thought For Today

Do not forget to do good and be generous for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.  Hebrews 16:13

Thank You Lord for the scriptures that tell us when You are pleased with our actions.  Thank You too for showing us that doing good and being generous are often a sacrifice.  Thank You for giving us Your help in being all You are calling us to be.  We love You Lord and want to be full of Your love and compassion.  Thank You for teaching us each day how to become more and more like You.

The Lord will shield your going out and your coming in from now on for evermore.  Psalm 121:8

Thank You Lord for always watching over us.  Thank You for Your peace and comfort knowing that You are there to help in ALL situations.  Often Lord it is hard to understand why things are going wrong in our lives.  Then we read verses like this and have to ask ourselves if they are really going ‘wrong’ or is there a different plan that You have for our lives.  Lord, I will be the first to admit it takes me a while to stop and listen to what You are trying to teach me.  It is verses like this one that remind me You are there….’The LORD WILL Shield.’  Thank You for being my SHIELD Lord.  Thank You for giving me the faith to believe and to trust YOU.  Thank You for helping me walk on knowing You ARE shielding me.  Oh….how I thank and praise You for taking care of me.

For the Lord will not forsake His people nor ever abandon His heritage.   Psalm 94:14

Thank You Lord for verses like this that show us who You are and our value to YOU.  Thank You for giving us the confidence we need that reminds us ‘YOU will NOT forsake us.’  Thank You for always being there listening to our praise to You and our requests.  AND Lord we thank You that You are there 24 hours a day 7 days a week.  Thank You for hearing our fears in the middle of the night when we are alone or others are sleeping.  Oh….what a comfort it is to thank and praise You for being with us through the day knowing You are with us all night too.  We have so much to thank and praise You for Lord.  Thank You for flooding our souls with peace and joy today.

Let us, therefore, be grateful that the kingdom we have received cannot be shaken, and so let us serve God acceptably with reverence and awe.  For our God is a consuming fire.  Hebrews 12:28

Thank You Lord for the gift of eternal life.  We thank You for Your gifts You have given us to serve You.  Thank You for our trust in You knowing that nothing can remove us from Your love.  In this scripture You remind us that it cannot be shaken.  What a gift and privilege it is to love and serve You.  Thank You for Your help each day as we look to You with AWE.  We love You Lord and give You all the glory.

Thank You Lord that I can read my Bible and listen to Your still small voice showing me Your way.   What a wonderful gift it is to all of us that have Your word to read and think about.  Thank You for the way scriptures come into our minds right when we need it.  Your comfort and Your everlasting love surround us right when we need it . Thank You for helping us ALWAYS look to You and trust You.  Peace and Joy flood our souls when we keep our eyes upon You and ohhhhh…how we thank You.

Thank You Lord for giving me another day to love and serve You.  Thank You for Your reminder that ‘This IS the day YOU have made’ for me.  Thank You for helping me live this day as You have designed it for me.  Thank You for Your guiding light that brings happiness and joy.  We walk together Lord and what a gift and blessing that brings.  Thank YOU for Your unconditional love that is helping me keep my eyes upon You.  How blessed I am as I begin 2025.

Thank You for another year Lord.  2025   Thank You for being with us each moment of last year.   We look forward to a New Year full of Your blessings and joy.  Thank You that we can know with full confidence that You WILL be with us every step of the way this year too.  Thank You for giving us the option of choosing Your peace and Your joy each day.

Who can put into words the mighty deeds of the Lord?  Who can make known all His praise?  Psalms 106:2

Thank You Lord for the peace and joy You are giving us that love You as we begin another year.  Thank You for being with us this past year as we trusted You, and listened and obeyed.  Lord we thank You for the excitement You give us in beginning another year.  Thank You for assuring us that You will be with us each step of the way throughout 2025 just as You were with us in 2024.  We love You Lord and thank You for Your unconditional love.  Thank You for helping us reach out and grab the blessings YOU are providing today.

Thank You Lord that we can praise You knowing that You delight in hearing us.  Thank You for the gift of PRAISE.  Thank You for asking us to praise and thank You.  We have just been privileged to thank You for coming to earth as a baby.  Now we are getting ready to thank You for giving us another year.  Thank You for the joy of another year.  Thank You too that Your lovingkindness will last forever and ever.

The angel (Gabriel) as he approached her (Mary), said, “Greetings, favored one. The Lord is with you.”  But she was troubled at his message and reflected what sort of greeting this might be.  The angel said to her, “Have no fear, Mary for you have found favor with God.  Luke 1:28 -30

Thank You for stopping us to listen to Your still small voice.  At this busy time of the year it is so easy for us to miss what You are trying to say to us and teach us.  As I was reading these verse Lord I wanted to stop here and reflect on what was going on.  You are calling Mary.  You sent an angel.  She was afraid, and Lord we all would be afraid wondering what is this..….why would he say such a thing.  Thank You for helping Mary NOT be afraid.  Thank You for calming her thoughts and fear.  This was Your presence helping her believe.  Lord, so often, it is You that helps us believe.  It is You that gives us more faith and joy.  It is You that give us peace in the midst of uncertain happenings.  We thank You Lord for ALWAYS being with us to bring comfort, peace and joy.
