Thought For Today

I will thank Thee forever, because Thou hast done it, I will proclaim Thy name for it is good, in the presence of the Godly. Psalms 52:9

Lord how wonderful it is to be with others that love You. There is a kindred spirit. There are stories to share that encourage us and fill us with love for You. We see how trusting in You changed lives. We learn how You were there in the deepest depths of despair. It gives us the courage to fight on. We need You Lord and we want You to guide us. Thank You for being with us today. Thank You for Your peace.

But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God. I trust in the steadfast love of God forever and ever. Psalms 52:8

Lord…we Your people love being able to gather together to worship You. Perhaps we love it so much because we know that ‘where two or three gather together in Your name… there You are in the midst.’ We feel Your love and peace. We too trust in Your steadfast love forever and ever. Thank You for loving us.

For Thou hast no delight in sacrifice; were I to give a burnt offering, Thou wouldst not be pleased. The sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, Thou wilt not despise. Psalms 51:16, 17

Lord … all that we have and all that we are is because You call us to come follow You. You are the light of our world. Your light shines on our pathway to show us the way. Your way is the path of truth and love. Thank You for walking our pathway with us. You are always there and that is a great gift to be thankful for.

Lord ….thank You for the opportunity to thank and praise You. You have given us another day and we thank You for it. Yes, there is a lot going on in our world and we thank You for quieting our hearts as we trust You. Oh how we thank You for walking with us today.

Lord how grateful we are that our sins are forgiven. Thank You for Your unconditional love. Thank You for the privilege we have of asking Your forgiveness and the peace that comes in knowing You have heard and forgiven us.

Restore to me the joy of Thy salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Thy ways, and sinners will return to Thee. Psalms 51:12, 13

Lord what a gift and blessing it is to help others on their spiritual walk with You. David wanted to walk that walk with You once again. He wanted the joy of his salvation back so he could ‘teach transgressors Thy ways, and sinners will return to Thee.’

Thank You Lord for Your forgiveness. Thank You for helping us grow and change into Your likeness. Thank You for a beautiful day to celebrate Thanksgiving yesterday. We have much to thank and praise You for. Thank You for today and our gift of having You with us.

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever. Psalms 118:1

Lord thank You for giving us grateful hearts. Thank You for a day that is set aside to be thankful. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. Already our focus is on the joy of being thankful. This year Lord will be so different for many of us that cannot be with family or friends. How grateful we are that You are with us. You never leave us. You are always with us. You are with us today. We are thankful for Your love and the contentment You are providing in these changing times.

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me. Psalms 51:10

Lord this is our cry just as it was David’s cry when he knew what he had done was wrong. Thank You for Your forgiveness. We all need it Lord. Thank You for always being there to forgive. Thanks You for helping us forgive ourselves because sometimes that is very hard to do. Your love for us picks us up and sets us on solid ground once again and helps us live our lives as You are calling us to do. Today is that beautiful day You have given us. Thank You for it. Thank You for the joy You are providing deep within our souls. We are forgiven. We are set free.

Fill me with JOY and GLADNESS; let the bones which Thou hast broken rejoice. Hide Thy face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Psalms 51:8, 9

Lord how wonderful it is when we become so focused upon You and Your love for us that we are FILLED with YOUR JOY and YOUR GLADNESS.

Today Lord I want to focus on all You have done in my life. Once I start looking at all I have been given instead of being selfish and think of all ‘I’ desire ….oh how my life changes. It goes from dissatisfaction to JOY and GLADNESS. Today I thank You for Your JOY and Your GLADNESS that are mine for the taking. Thank You for each gift that is mine today. I am filled with Your love and I thank You.
