Thought For Today

Thou are the God who workest wonders, who has manifested Thy might among the peoples. Thou didst with Thy arm redeem Thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Psalms 77:14, 15

Lord….we thank You that nothing is impossible for You. I’m so glad You know exactly what to do. You know what is best for our world to bring us all closer to You. Certainly the pandemic has given us a wake-up call to not take things for granted. We miss so many of Your gifts to us because we expect that everything will remain the same. Thank You for the knowledge that You will always be with us. Many of us have seen that promise lived out in our life and the lives of others. You have been there right when we needed You. Our lives have been changed. Thank You for helping us through those difficult moment.

I will meditate on all Thy work, and muse on Thy mighty deeds. Thy way, O God, is holy. What god is great like our God? Psalms 77:12, 13

Lord we humbly bow in reverence when we think of all You have done for us. No… there is no god like our God. You gave Your life to redeem us and we thank You. Thank You for being with us today. We love You Lord and thank You for Your love.

Glorious art Thou, more majestic than the everlasting mountains. Psalms 76:4

Thank You Lord for the beauty of this earth. The mountains are majestic and the Psalmist knew that You were even more majestic than the mountains. We have been given so much to enjoy. Each day is a new adventure to look around and stand amazed. Thank You for each gift and blessing.

We give thanks to Thee, O God; we give thanks; we call on Thy name and recount Thy wondrous deeds. Psalms 73:1

Lord…we too give thanks to You. When we stop our busy lives and think through our day there are many things we can thank You for. Oh of course there are always the challenges that You help us through. We thank You for Your help with each one of them and some days they do seem to consume us. When we think of the many gifts of the day we have so much to thank You for. We take so much for granted. We miss so many opportunities to be grateful. Our blessings abound and we thank You for each one.

For lo, those who are far from Thee shall perish; Thou dost put an end to those who are false to Thee. But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all Thy works. Psalms 73:27, 28

Thank You Lord that we can be near You. What a gift! What a privilege! What a blessing. You have called us and we have responded. We love You Lord and thank You for being with us today.

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalms 73:26

Thank You Lord that You have never changed. You are our strength and our portion for every day. We trust You Lord because we know You are always there. Thank You for being our Lord and our strength. Today we look to You and thank You for being with us each moment of this day.

Whom have I in heaven but Thee? And there is nothing upon earth that I desire besides Thee. Psalms 73:25

Lord the Psalmist certainly had learned that You were his everything. Whether he thought of heaven or earth his thoughts were turned toward You.

Thank You that You are that same Lord today. You hear us when we sing praises to You and You hear us when we cry out to You for help. There is never a time when You don’t hear us. Thank You for being with us today. Thank You for Your guidance. Thank You for giving us Your peace.

When my soul was embittered, when I was pricked in heart, I was stupid and ignorant, I was like a beast toward Thee. Nonetheless I am continually with Thee; Thou dost guide me with Thy counsel, and afterward Thou wilt receive me to glory. Psalms 73:21 – 24

Lord …what love You have for us. Thank You. The Psalmist had experienced Your love for him. He knew You were right there with him in the ups and down of his life. You guided him just as You guide us today. When life is over we know You will receive us ‘to glory’ too. We have much to thank You for today Lord. You are right here guiding us this very moment and we thank You.

Truly God is good to the upright, to those who are pure in heart. But as for me; my feet had almost stumbled, my steps had well nigh slipped. For I was envious of the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. Psalms 73:1 – 3

Thank You Lord that You are a forgiving God. Who of us hasn’t had to come to You when we like the Psalmist envied and became dissatisfied. Thank You for loving us unconditionally Lord. Hard to fathom Your love for us because hard as we try we don’t love as You love. Thank You for loving us with a love that goes way beyond our own human comprehension. We are blessed!

And my tongue will talk of the righteous help all the day long, for they have been put to shame and disgraced who sought to do me hurt. Psalms 71:24

Thank You Lord for Your protection. Lord we thank You for those times when we see You in our lives and know that it was You that helped us. There are those many other times that we are protected and we don’t even know it. We thank and praise You for those times too. We love You Lord and thank You for another day to walk with You and sing praises for Your unconditional love for us.
