Thought For Today

Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer, hearken to my cry of supplication. In the day of my trouble I call on Thee, for Thou dost answer me. Psalms 86:6, 7

Thank You Lord for answered prayers. David knew when he called on You his prayers would be answered. His faith had grown stronger with each day he survived. He was being hunted down to be killed. His only hope was in You Lord so he cried out to You to save his life. Each day he survived his faith in You became stronger. He knew he could trust in You and his prayers would be answered.

Thank You Lord for being faithful to us. Thank You for today. Thank You for the gifts we are seeing all around us. Thank You that we can praise and thank You for those gifts. Our faith is growing and we thank You.

Thank You Lord.

Gladden the soul of Thy servant, for to Thee O Lord, do I lift up my soul. For Thou, O Lord, art good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call on Thee. Psalms 86:4, 5

Thank You Lord for being with us this moment. You are our Lord and as David reminds us … You are good and forgiving. Your steadfast love is always with us. You hear our praise and You hear our cries for help. We are never without Your unconditional love. Thank You for filling us with Your joy and Your peace.

Preserve my life, for I am godly; save Thy servant who trusts to Thee. Thou art my God; be gracious to me, O Lord, for to Thee do I cry all the day. Psalms 86:2, 3

Lord we know that David was running for his life and trying to survive when he wrote this Psalm. He knew You knew all about him as he cried out for Your help. His cries were heard and he was saved and he thanked You.

Thank You Lord that often even though we pray and believe we are amazed at our answers. You hear…You understand…You answer in the way that is best for us. Yes there are many things in life we will never understand. But….like David of old we can trust that You are going to be with us to help us each time we call upon You. Oh how we thank and praise You for ALWAYS being with us.

Incline Thy ear, O Lord, and answer me, for I am poor and needy. Psalms 86:1

Lord how grateful we are that You are always there to hear our cries for help. David knew where to go for help. He knew You had always been there for him in the past and You would be there for him again if he asked. I am so glad You are that same Lord that heard David and You will hear us today when we too cry out to You for help. What a gift! What a blessing!

Yea, the Lord will give what is good, and our land will yield its increase. Righteousness will go before Him and make His footsteps a way. Psalms 85:12, 13

Thank You Lord for the ‘good’ that we have because of You. Each day is a gift of love from You. Thank You for showing us that nothing is too hard for You. Oh how we praise and thank You.

Lord… we Your people appreciate Your peace. In the midst of the storms of life You are there. I love the verse that tells us Your peace passes all human understanding. What a gift! We are blessed and we thank You. Thank You for Your peace today. Oh how we need it Lord.

O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man who trust in Thee! Psalms 84:12

Thank You Lord for all Your blessings. Thank You for being there 24/7 to hear our praises and to hear our requests for help. Thank You for the blessing of this beautiful springtime. Already we are enjoying the flowers and the green grass. The birds are happily chirping as if to be singing their praises to You. Everything on this earth is coming alive. Oh how we thank You for the beauty of spring.

For a day in Thy courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness. Psalms 84:10

Lord how great it is to be in Your house especially on Easter. Thank You for Easter. A time to celebrate Your resurrection. Thank You for open churches where we can again worship with other believers. What a great day it was and as we continue to rejoice today we thank You for being with us. The joy of Easter still lingers in our hearts and we thank You.

How lovely is Thy dwelling place, O Lord of hosts! My soul longs, yea, faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God. Psalms 84:1, 2

Lord…how wonderful it is to sing Your praises. We have been given another day to thank You for all the gifts that are ours because we love You. Joy floods our souls when we … like the Psalmist… let our thoughts turn to You. Thank You for Your peace today. A peace that only You can give. Oh how we praise and thank You.
