Thought For Today

Yes God will give you much so you can give away much, and when we take your gifts to those who need them they will break out into thanksgiving and praise to God for your help. So two good things happen as the result of your gifts–those in need are helped, and they overflow with thanks to God. 2 Corinthians 9:11, 12

Lord this chapter in the Bible written by Paul to the Corinthian believers so long ago is still so true today. What a blessing it is to give. How it floods our souls with joy to see the needs of another met. And Lord when You meet our needs …we thank You. Thank You for the joys You are bring us today. We love You Lord and thank You for being with us today and every moment of every day.

Thank You Lord for meeting each of our needs today. You are with us Lord and we thank and praise You. How wonderful it is to share our gifts from You with others. Thank You for those that have shared their gifts with me and thank You Lord for allowing me to share my gifts with others. Oh how thankful we are Lord that You came to earth to give us the greatest gift of all….an eternity of love with You forever and ever.

The Godly man gives generously to the poor. His good deeds will be an honor to him forever. 2 Corinthians 9:9

Lord once again I must thank You for the blessing we receive when we give. It brings such joy when we help someone in need. This verse tells me it is not just an earthly gift from You but it is a gift that will go on for all eternity. You tell us that ‘the good deeds will be an honor to us forever.’ Thank You for showing us who has the need. Thank You for the blessing we receive even when the person doesn’t know who gave. You are so awesome Lord and we thank You for blessing us.

God is able to make it up to you by giving you everything you need and more, so that there will not only be enough for your own needs. but plenty left over to give joyfully to others. 2 Corinthians 9:8

How bless we are Lord knowing that You will give us everything we need. Thank You that nothing is too hard or impossible for You. Thanks You for being with us today and the joy we have in serving You.

Everyone must make up his own mind as to how much he should give. Don’t force anyone to give more than he really wants to, for cheerful givers are the ones God prizes. 2 Corinthians 9:7

Thank You Lord for helping each of us that love You to be ‘cheerful givers.’ Givers of not only our money but givers of our time too. Thank You for the joy there is in giving. We are not only a ‘prize to God’ ….a cheerful giver receives great joy in giving. Thank You for the blessings we receive because we are living as You are asking us to live. We love You Lord and thank You for Your gift of unconditional love.

Then God who cheers those who are discouraged refreshed us by the arrival of Titus. 2 Corinthians 7:6

Thank You Lord for cheering us when we are discouraged. Titus came to visit and it made a difference in others lives. Thank You for friends and family that are there when we need them. They are gifts from You Lord and we thank You.

For the earth has yielded abundant harvests. God, even our own God , will bless us. And people from remotest lands will worship Him. Psalms 67:6, 7

Once again Lord we thank You for Your blessings. Thank You for the ‘abundant harvests’ You provide. I certain have been thanking You for that ‘abundant harvest’ when I am in the stores today. We have many empty shelves that used to be always full. It has certainly made me realize how blessed we truly were and are. It so often takes that Lord to help us count our many blessings from You. Thank You for helping us see the many blessing You have provided today.

Praise God, O world! May all the people of the earth give praise to You. Psalms 67:5

Thank You Lord that I live in a country that can openly give thanks to You. How wonderful it would be and how changed our world would be if ‘all the people of the earth gave praise to You.’ It is Your love that changes us. Oh how we thank and praise You for Your love today.
