Thought For Today

(Jesus continued)  “When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace, but when one stronger than he assails him and overcomes him, he takes away his armor in which he trusted, and divides his spoil.”  Luke 11:21, 22

Thank You that as we trust in You we know we are being guarded by the strongest.

Thank You for knowing all things and seeing all things.

Thank You that everything is in Your control.

Thank You that as we put You first in our lives and love You all fear leaves.

Thank You for loving us just as we are and causing us to want to change more and more into Your likeness.

We are blessed.

Thank You Lord.

But if it is by the finger of God that I (Jesus) cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.          Luke 11:20

Lord thank You that You know just the right thing to say and those words show us a better way.

Thank You for having the crowd decide for themselves how You cast out the demons.

Thank You that You caused them to realize that You certainly could only be who You said You were.

Thank You that You give us the courage to stand up for what we believe.

Thank You for the power and strength that comes from You as we ask for it.

Thank You for these gifts Lord for they help us serve You.

(Jesus continued)  And if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons cast them out?  Therefore they shall be your judges.  Luke 11:19

Lord there is something to be learned by the way You answer those that would try and discredit You.

You didn’t try and justify Yourself or Your actions.  You gave those listening the answer by showing them how ridiculous their questions were.

Thank You Lord for showing us a better way.

Thank You for Your encouragement as we let You guide our thoughts.

Thank You that we do not have to stand alone – You are always with us.

(Jesus continued)  “And if Satan also is divided against himself, how will the kingdom stand?  For you say that I cast out demons by Beelzebul.”  Luke 11:18

Lord thank You for always having answers for the crowd that was out to discredit You.  .

Thank You for showing this crowd how wrong their accusations where.  They were trying to say that You were of Satan just like Beelzebul.   You showed them how silly that accusation was.

Thank You for calling all people to Yourself.

Thank You that You love each of us unconditionally.

Thank You that we can know who You are.

Thank You for the joy of our salvation.

Thank You Lord.
