Thought For Today

And they (the women) remembered His (Jesus) words, and returning from the tomb they told all this to the eleven and to all the rest. Luke 24:8, 9

Thank You Lord for those that share Your good news.

Thank You for the excitement of these women.

Thank You Lord for our minds that remember.

Thank You that these women remembered Your words and were living to see those words happen.

Thank You that they knew what You said was true.

Faith – Trust – Love.

Thank You Lord.

While they (women) were perplexed about this, (Jesus being gone from the tomb) behold, two men stood by them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? Remember how He told you, while He was still in Galilee, that the Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise.” Luke 24:4 – 7

Thank You Lord for always keeping Your word.

Thank You that we can know that You will always do what You have promised.

Thank You for these women that loved You enough to want to take care of You.

Thank You for Your love – Your unconditional love.

Oh how blessed we are because You came to earth for us.

And they (the women) found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in they did not find the body. Luke 24:2, 3

Lord these women must have been very brave to walk into the tomb when they saw the stone rolled away.

Thank You Lord for the courage of these women that wanted to take care of Your body.

Thank You for their boldness to continue to search for You.

Thank You for the love they had for You that was willing to go the extra miles to find You.

Thank You Lord that we can come to You and ask for Your strength and power.

Thank You for faith that knows the power of answered prayers.

But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they (the women) went to the tomb, taking the spices which they had prepared. Luke 24:1

Thank You Lord for those that care about us.

Thank You for these woman that loved You and wanted to take care of You after You were in the tomb.

Thank You for the gift of service.

Thank You for those that enjoy serving others and the light in their eyes reflect Your love.

Thank You for those on earth that truly love You and because of Your love share their lives with others.

There is much to thank You for Lord.

The woman who had come to Him (Jesus) from Galilee followed, and saw the tomb, and how His body was laid; then they returned, and prepared spices and ointments. On the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment. Luke 23:55, 56

Lord what a sad time for those that loved You. I am sure they found all of this very hard to understand and their hearts were broken as they watched.

Thank You Lord for the price You paid so that all of us that believe and accept You can have eternal life.

Thank You for the joy we have today because we love You.

Thank You for Your unconditional love.

Oh how blessed we are Lord because of You.

It was the day of Preparation, and the Sabbath was beginning.
Luke 23:54

Thank You Lord that we can trust You.

Thank You that we can know You never make a mistake.

Thank You for knowing when You would die and how the Sabbath would fit into Your plan.

Thank You for faith to believe – a faith that grows and grows as we learn to trust You more and more.

Oh how blessed we are to have You as our Master and Guide.

Then he (Joseph of Arimathea) took it (Jesus body) down and wrapped it in a linen shroud, and laid Him in a rock-hewn tomb, where no one had ever yet been laid. Luke 23:53

Lord thank You for the love that Joseph of Armathea showed Jesus.

Joseph was a good man that was ‘looking for the Kingdom of God.’

Thank You Lord for those that are seeking You today.

Thank You for always bringing them to Yourself because their desire is to find You.

Thank You Lord that You never hide but are always there when we cry out to You.

Oh how blessed we are Lord because of Your unconditional love.

This man (Joseph) went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Luke 23:52

Lord it certainly took a lot of courage for Joseph to go to Pilate and ask for Your body. After all Pilate was the one that had Jesus killed. It seems such a risk for Joseph to have the courage to ask.

Thank You Lord for those that have courage.

Thank You Lord for courage to step up to the plate, so to speak, when we know it is You calling us on.

Thank You for telling us that Your sheep hear Your voice.

Thank You that we can know when we hear You calling us.

Thank You for the joy of knowing You and loving You.

Now there was a man named Joseph from the Jewish town of Arimathea. He was a member of the council, a good and righteous man, who had not consented to their purpose and deed, and he was looking for the kingdom of God. Luke 23:50, 51

Thank You Lord for those that live their lives so that others can say wonderful things about them.

Oh that doesn’t mean they are perfect. We all have our flaws and faults.

Thank You Lord that You know all about us.

Thank You for changing us into Your likeness when we ask and seek Your help.

Oh how we need You Lord.

Thank You for ALWAYS being there when we cry out to You.

And all His (Jesus) acquaintances and the women who had followed Him from Galilee stood at a distance and saw these things. Luke 23:49

Thank You Lord that those that loved and believed in You never left You.

Thank You for friends and family that love us.

Thank You for those that help us through life when we aren’t sure which way to go.

Thank You for those we can help when they need a human touch.

Thank You for Your unconditional love that calls us on to be more and more like You.
