Thought For Today

(Jesus continued talking with Nicodemus) “Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born anew.’ The wind blows where it wills, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know whence it comes or whither it goes; so it is with every one who is born of the Spirit.” John 3:7, 8

Thank You Lord for the questions that Nicodemus asked and John’s record of them.

Thank You for Your wise answers that gave him insight into what You were telling him.

Thank You for faith to believe in spite of our reasoning minds that would question.

Thank You Lord.

Jesus answered, (Nicodemus) “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” John 5, 6

Lord You were saying things to Nicodemus that he had never heard before. He had questions. He knew that You were sent by God and he came in the night so he would not be seen. He was a Pharisee and ruler of the Jews.

Lord, thank You for the curious like Nicodemus.

Thank You that you tell us when we seek You we will find You.

Thank You for calling all of us.

Nicodemus said to Him, (Jesus) “How can a man be born again when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” John 3:4

Lord, Nicodemus was full of questions because he didn’t understand. This was something he had never heard before. If we didn’t know the rest of the story we would have asked the same thing.

Thank You Lord for coming to earth to redeem us.

Thank You that You brought life and a life more abundant.

Thank You for the joy of serving You.

Thank You for a changed life when we turn to You.

Thank You Lord.

Lord – today we understand what You were telling Nicodemus. We’ll see what his answer was to You as we continue.

Thank You Lord that we have John’s words to read after history has been written.

Thank You that we can read this with eyes open and hearts ready to hear what You want to teach us.

Thank You that You call us all to be born again and enter the kingdom of God.

Oh how blessed we are because You came.

Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. John 3:1

Lord it is great when we can read stories of people that lived while You were here on earth. John is going to tell us how this Pharisee -Nicodemus – who was a ruler of the Jews – was touched by meeting You.

Thank You Lord for giving John the inspiration and intuitiveness to write about Nicodemus.

Thank You that John was able to write about what he saw with his own eyes.

Thank You for using these people to change our lives today as we learn about how their lives were changed.

Thank You for bring us all closer to You as we seek to know You better and better.

Now when He (Jesus) was in Jerusalem at the Passover feast, many believed in His name when they saw the signs which He did; but Jesus did not trust Himself with them, because He knew all men and needed no one to bear witness of man; for He Himself knew what was in man. John 2:23 – 25

Thank You Lord that You know all about each one of us.

Thank You that You know exactly what we need when we need it.

Thank You that You are always with us.

Thank You for bringing peace in the midst of storms when we keep our hearts focused upon You.

Peace and Joy are ours because of You Lord.

When therefore He (Jesus) was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this; and they believed the scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken. John 2:22

Lord it is wonderful to see and understand.

Thank You for helping these disciples remember what You said.

Thank You for quickening our minds when we need to remember.

Thank You for quickening our minds when we need to stand upon one of Your promises while going through a difficult time.

Thank You for the promise that You will always be with us.

How blessed we are Lord and I thank You.

Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up.” John 2:19

Lord we know that those listening didn’t have a clue what You were talking about.

Thank You Lord that we can know today what You were talking about.

Thank You for Your love that caused You to come and died for us.

Thank You for always being with us.

Thank You for helping us become more and more like You.

Thank You Lord.

The Jews then said to Him, (Jesus) “What sign have you to show us for doing this?” John 2:18

Lord they never gave up questioning You. As we read scripture we see that even to the end of Your life there were those that didn’t believe who You were.

Thank You Lord for each person that has the faith to believe.

Thank You for taking the blinders off our eyes so that we can see You.

Thank You for the many gifts and blessings that are ours today because You came.

Oh how blessed we are because of You.

His (Jesus) disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for Thy house will consume me.” John 2:17

Lord this scripture shows us how much the disciples knew about what was written before You came. They remembered.

Thank You for scripture.

Thank You that we can learn about You when we open our Bible and read.

Thank You for opening our eyes of understanding and helping us know more about You.

Thank You for John and all he wrote about You.
