Thought For Today

He (Jesus) went away again across the Jordan to the place where John at first baptized, and there He remained. John 10:39

Lord You had to get far away from these men that wanted to stone You. You couldn’t talk with them any longer because they didn’t want to hear what You had to say. You chose to leave and go to the other side of the river. You got totally away from them.

Thank You Lord that we too often have the option of changing our situation.

Thank You for the wisdom You give us when we cry out to You for help.

Thank You for understanding every issue in our lives.

Over and over Lord we see You come to our rescue and we praise and thank You.

Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued talking to the Jews that wanted to stone Him) “If I am not doing the works of My Father, then do not believe Me; but if I do them, even though you do not believe Me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in Me and I am in the Father.” John 10:37 -39

Lord once again we see how misunderstood Your actions were. These men were never going to believe You no matter how much You said or how many miracles You did.

Lord it is so hard for us to be misunderstood. Thank You for showing us that You understand because it happened to You.

Thank You for asking us to come to You for answers and comfort.

Thank You for ALWAYS being there when we cry out to You.

Over and over Lord You show us how blessed we truly are.

Jesus answered them, (Jews) “It is not written in your law, ‘I said, You are Gods.’ If He called them gods to whom the word of God came (and scripture cannot be broken), do you say of Him whom the father consecrated and sent into the world, You are blaspheming, because I said I am the Son of God? John 10:34 – 36

Lord it is so hard to be misunderstood. You were misunderstood and You were not liked. No matter what You said or did these Jewish men were going to find fault with You. They wanted to stone You.

Thank You Lord for understanding when we cry out to You for help.

Oh how blessed we are Lord that You call us Your children.

Thank You. Thank You Lord.

The Jews answered Him, (Jesus) “We stone You for no good work but for blasphemy; because You, being a man, make Yourself God.”
John 10:33

Thank You Lord for coming to earth as a baby.

Thank You for showing us what to do when others come against us.

Thank You for standing firm and listening to Your Father for direction.

Oh how blessed we are because You came.

Jesus answered them, (the Jews that were going to stone him) “I have shown you many good works from the Father; for which of these do you stone Me?” John 10:32

Lord how wonderful it would be to always have the right answer like You did.

Thank You for showing us Your wisdom and knowledge.

Thank You for asking us to call on You when we need help and answers.

Thank You for Your patience with us.

Thank You too for giving us the rest of the story and showing us the price You paid for our sin.

Thank You for Your assurance that some day we will be with You forever.

The Jews took up stones again to stone Him (Jesus). John 10:31

Lord what a great example Your life on earth was for all of us.

Thank You for continuing to do the good that You did in spite of those that wanted to kill You.

You had healed a man that was blind and yet these Jewish men wanted to stone You.

Help us to remember Your example. Help us to continue to do good even when others throw emotional stones at us.

Oh to be like You Lord. Full of love and forgiveness.

Thank You for being our example.

Thank You for being with us each moment of every day.

Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “My Father, who has given them (sheep) to Me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” John 10:29, 30

Thank You Lord for the security we have in You.

Thank You for the promise that NO ONE can take us away from the Father.

Thank You for the peace this gives us when we grasp what it means to be loved unconditionally by You.

(Jesus continued) “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of My hand.”
John 10:27, 28

Thank You Lord for giving us so much.

Thank You for telling these Jews that would not believe just what they were missing.

Thank You for all we as Your followers have – eternal life – security – unconditional love – guidance – Lord the list goes on and on.

Jesus answered them, “I told you and you do not believe. The work that I do in My Father’s name, they bear witness to Me; but you do not believe, because you do not belong to My sheep.” John 10:25, 26

Thank You Lord for being our shepherd.

Thank You for allowing us to hear when You speak.

Thank You that the closeness we have to You is up to us.

Thank You for ALWAYS being with us to comfort and to guide.

Oh how blessed we feel and how thankful we are.

It was the feast of the Dedication at Jerusalem. It was winter and Jesus was walking in the temple in the portico of Solomon. So the Jews gathered round Him and said to Him, “How long will You keep us in suspense? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly.” John 10:22 – 24

Thank You Lord for Your patience.

Thank You that in spite of the fact these Jews had heard You tell them over and over who You were You continued to tell them yet one more time.

Thank You for revealing the truth to us and giving us the opportunity to accept You.

Oh how blessed we are. Thank You.
