Thought For Today

Without counsel plans go wrong but with many advisers they succeed. Proverbs 15:22

Thank You Lord for the Godly people in my life that point me to You.

Thank You for those that are willing to share what You are teaching them.

Thank You for David Jeremiah that teaches me each morning as I drive to work. It is obvious Lord that he is listening and looking to You for instruction and guidance. Thank You for the encouragement, strength and help he provides each day.

Thank You Lord that You always give us what we need when we need it. Oh how we praise and thank You.

Thank You Lord.

Lord when I read scriptures like this one I am very grateful for Your guidance.

Thank You for the wisdom You alone provide.

Thank You for the opportunity to walk with You.

You are always there Lord and I thank You.

A wise son makes a glad father but a foolish man despises his mother. Proverbs 15:20

Lord what a wonderful gift to have a mother and father that love and serve You.

Solomon is trying to instill within his son the wisdom he was given by You Lord.

He is telling his son that a wise man makes a glad father. He wanted a wise son and a son that was a glad father. This would also make Solomon a glad father.

Thank You for the wisdom Solomon shares with all of us.

The way of a sluggard is overgrown with thorns but the path of the upright is a level highway. Proverbs 15:19

Lord…what joy there is in staying close to You.

Here Solomon reminds his young son that when you don’t do anything nothing gets done. This applies to his spiritual relations also.

Thank You Lord for Your still small voice that leads us on.

Thank You that You will show us the way. All we need to do is ask and trust.

Thank You Lord.

A hot-tempered man stirs up strife but he who is slow to anger quiets contention. Proverbs 15:17

Lord….tempers are frightening because often they are causing the person to be out of control. You never know what they are going to do or say.

Thank You Lord for those that have gentle spirits and a calming effect when a temper flies.

Thank You for those that recognize their need and go through anger management classes.

Thank You for those that teach those classes and help the angry gain control.

Thank You for Your help Lord. We need You and are so grateful for all Your promises of peace and contentment.

Better is a dinner of herbs where love is than a fatted ox and hatred with it. Proverbs 15:17

Thank You Lord for loving us enough to die for us.

Thank You for Your unconditional love.

Thank You for changing us moment by moment and day by day.

Better is a little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble with it. Proverbs 15:16

Thank You Lord for showing us how much better it is to love You. Certainly it is better to have ‘little’ than to gain the whole world and lose our soul.

Thank You Lord for the peace and joy that You alone provide as we walk and talk with You.

Thank You for hearts that are cheerful.

Lord tomorrow we celebrate our independence and the freedom we have to openly worship You. It is a wonderful gift not to be taken lightly.

Oh how we thank You.

Nathanael said to Him, (Jesus) “How do You know me?” Jesus answered him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” John 1:49

Thank You Lord for knowing all about us.

Thank You for knowing right where we are all the time.

Lord You know what we need and when we need it and yet You ask us to come to You with our needs and wants.

Lord it is in our humility of asking that You allow us to receive.

Thank You for caring enough for each one of us to give Your life that we may live.

We are so, so blessed Lord.

The Jews then said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will You (Jesus) raise it up in three days?” But He (Jesus) spoke of the temple of His body. John 2:20, 21

Lord it is so hard to understand things before we see the end results. We understand all of these words today because we are living after the fact. These Jews had no idea what You were saying to them. They were very confused.

Thank You Lord for insight.

Thank You for clear understanding.

Thank You for minds that can reason and understand.

Thank You for Your Holy Spirit that gives us insights and understanding.

Thank You for those times we can see things through Your eyes.

Oh how I thank You!
