Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say rejoice! Philippians 4:4
Lord this is the last day of 2019. Tonight at 12:01 we being a new day and a new year. Thank You for another year to rejoice in You and all we have to look forward to. You were with us in 2019 and You will be with us in 2020. Thank You for giving us so much to rejoice in. Thank You that we can ALWAYS rejoice in You.

Lord we thank and praise You that You hear our cries. You are ALWAYS there. Often the circumstances of life are so hard to understand and accept. Oh how fortunate we are to know that You know all about us and all that is going on in our lives.

It’s nearly Christmas Lord. Our hearts are full of peace and joy. This is the time we celebrate Your birth. Oh yes we are very busy making sure everyone has the perfect gift….and yet deep within our heart is the peace that only You can give.
Thank You for the peace of Christmas. Thank You for coming to earth as a baby. Thank You for Your unconditional love for us. We love You Lord and thank and praise You.

David Continues…. Deliver my soul from the sword, my life from the power of the dog! Save me from the mouth of the lion, my afflicted soul from the horns of the wild oxen! I will tell of Thy name to my brethren; in the midst of the congregation I will praise Thee: you who fear the Lord, praise Him! All you sons of Jacob, glorify Him, and stand in awe of Him, all you sons of Israel! Psalms 20:20 – 23
Lord …David continues to tell You of all that is going on in his life that is difficult. Certainly it is something none of us would ever want to endure. But after he gets done telling You all that is wrong he reminds us of who You are and what You can do. He tell the sons of Jacob to glorify You and stand in awe.
Lord we too stand in awe. We see Your miracles. We feel Your unconditional love. We know You care and we thank You.

Many bulls encompass me, strong bulls of Bashan surround me; they open wide their mouths at me, like a ravening and roaring lion. I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint; my heart is like wax, it is melted within my breast; my strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue cleaves to my jaws; Thou dost lay me in the dust of death. Yea, dogs are round about me; a company of evildoers encircle me; they have pierced my hands and feet – – I can count all my bones – – they stare and gloat over me; they divide my garments among them, and for my raiment they cast lots. But Thou, O Lord, be not far off! O Thou my help, hasten to my aid! Psalms 22:12 – 19
Lord ….how sad this was as I read it. David was crying out to You in desperation as a man that was dying. His health was totally gone. You were his only hope.
Lord what a hard place to be in. BUT You were there with him. You heard his cries. You answered his prayers. You were his comfort while he waited. You were what he hung on to.
Thank You Lord that You are here for us today too. Oh how we need You Lord. Thank You for hearing our cries just as You heard David’s cries.

David continued…. Yet Thou art He who took me from the womb; Thou didst keep me safe upon my mother’s breasts. Upon Thee was I cast from my birth, and since my mother bore me Thou hast been my God. Be not far from me, for trouble is near and there is none to help. Psalms 22:9 – 11
Lord, David reminds us of how You have been with us before we were even conceived. What an awesome thought that is. You know us. You know all about us. You created us. You love us. Awesome thoughts to dwell upon today Lord. Thank You for ALWAYS being with us each step of this journey called life.

David continued…..But I am a worm, and no man; scorned by men, and despised by the people. All who see me mock at me, they make mouths at me, they wag their heads; “He committed his cause to the Lord; let Him deliver him, let Him rescue him, for he delights in Him!” Psalms 22:6 – 8
Oh Lord how our thoughts go back and forth just as David’s does. One moment we are praising You and the next moment we are questioning all that is going on in our lives.
Thank You Lord for loving us when we are up and loving us just as much when we are down. Thank You for helping us through the difficult days and teaching us that You are ALWAYS with us and the sun will shine again.
You love us unconditionally Lord and what a gift that is.

(David continued after being disappointed that You didn’t answer his cries right away.) Yet Thou art holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel. In Thee our fathers trusted; they trusted, and Thou didst deliver them. To Thee they cried, and were saved; in Thee they trusted, and were not disappointed. Psalms 22: 3 – 5
Thank You Lord that we like David know that You will not disappoint us when we cry out to You. David knew the history and knew You had always been with his people. Today we have even more history to fall back on and know how faithful You truly are. You do hear our cries. You are in control. You do care about us. Our hearts are full of praise and thankfulness.

My God, my God, why hast Thou forsaken me? Why art Thou so far from helping me, from the words of my groaning? O my God, I cry by day, but Thou dost not answer; and by night, but find no rest. Psalms 22:1, 2
Lord this is a Psalm of David. David is just like us. One moment we are singing Your praises and the next moment we are wondering why You haven’t given us what we want.
I am so glad You know what is best for me Lord. You are there in the midst of all that goes on in life helping me through each day. Yes, I too like David think You don’t act fast enough and sound like a spoiled brat at times too. BUT like David I stop and know that You are right there with me through it all….and I thank You.

Be exalted, O Lord, we will sing and praise You for Your power. How wonderful it is Lord to know You and to love You. Thank You for Your unconditional love for us. Oh how blessed we are.
