Then Jesus, knowing all that was to befall Him, came forward and said to them, “Whom do you seek?” They answered Him, “Jesus of Nazareth.” Jesus said to them, “I am He.” Judas who betrayed Him was standing with them. John 18:4, 5
Lord our minds have been refreshed with this story because we just had Easter a week ago. We experienced the sadness of Good Friday and then the exhilaration of Easter Sunday when we sang “Up from the Grave He Arose.” That song is always sung with great joy as we experience the thought of the empty tomb with the angel there . It is such a beautiful story. It is history but it comes alive each year as we remember.
Your story is etched in my mind and heart because my mother would tell it so well with her flannel backgrounds beautifully painted and the figures place carefully as we heard each detail of what happened so long ago. The excitement in her voice caused each child to wait with anticipation to hear and see what was going to happen next. What a gift mom was for every child hearing those words. Your love shinned through her making Your love a reality in the hearts of all listening.
Thank You Lord for mom and those like her that carry Your message to young children.
Oh how blessed I was Lord and how I thank You. Thank You for those gifts that last a lifetime.
Thank You Lord.
