Thought For Today

The Godly shall be planted firmly in the land and live there forever. The Godly man is a good counselor because he is just and fair and knows right from wrong. Psalms 37:29 – 31

Once again Lord we thank You that our home with You will be forever. Oh the joys we look forward to in spending all eternity with You.

Thank You for placing within us the desire to be a good counselor. It is You that has given us the ability to know right from wrong and to be fair in our dealings with others.

You have blessed us with so many wonderful changes in our lives as we have continued to walk with You Lord and we thank You.

Thank You Lord.

So if you want an eternal home, leave your evil, low-down ways and live good lives. For the Lord loves justice and fairness, He will never abandon His people. They will be kept safe forever; but all who love wickedness shall perish. Psalms 37:27, 28

Thank You Lord for loving us that live good lives. Thank You for never abandoning us. Thank You for keeping us safe not only today but forever. We rejoice with You for preparing a home where we will live with you for all eternity.

Instead, the Godly are able to be generous with their gifts and loans to others, and their children are a blessing. Psalms 37:26

Thank You Lord for Your blessings. Truly there is a blessing in giving. Thank You for providing our money so we can give and receive Your blessings. And thank You for the gift of children. Thank You for the many gifts we take so for granted each day Lord. Thank You for Your peace and Your joy given so freely. Thank You for another day to love and serve You. We love You Lord and thank and praise You.

I have been young and now I am old. And in all my years I have never seen the Lord forsake a man who loves Him; nor have I seen the children of the Godly go hungry. Psalms 37:25

Once again Lord I want to thank You for taking care of us. I too like the writer of this Psalm can say the same thing. It is amazing to look back over my life and see how You have taken care of me. Your love is amazing and I too thank and praise You.

The steps of good men are directed by the Lord. He delights in each step they take. If they fall it isn’t fatal for the Lord holds them with His hand. Psalms 37:23, 24

Lord how grateful we are that You are holding our hand. Thank You for Your direction. Thank You that we can be a delight to You when we follow Your plan for our lives. We love You Lord and thank You for being with us each step of each day. Thank You for guiding us through this day.

Day by day the Lord observes the good deeds done by Godly men, and gives them eternal rewards. Psalms 37:18

Thank You Lord for watching all we do. Thank You for giving us the desire to do good deeds because of our love for You. Thank You for giving each of us special gifts. We love You Lord and thank You for each blessing You are providing today.

Thank You Lord for a double blessing. We are always blessed when we do good deeds and then You tell us that we also receive ‘eternal rewards.’ What a joy it is to follow You Lord. We are blessed here on earth and we have a reward waiting for us when we spend all eternity with You. Oh how we praise and thank You.

PS … I must admit until I read this verse when writing I never thought about our ‘good deeds’ having an ‘eternal reward.’ I know I have read this verse many times but it never hit me as much as it did writing this thought. It was as if God was opening my eyes of understanding. It just shows me how much the Lord wants to guide and direct our lives. It matters for all eternity. We are so, so blessed!

It is better to have little and be Godly than to own an evil man’s wealth; for the strength of evil men shall be broken, but the Lord takes care of those He has forgiven. Psalms 37:16, 17

Thank You Lord for Your promise to take care of us. As we face each new day we can rest in Your promise to be with us throughout the day. Thank You for being with us each step of the way today. Thank You that we Your children are loved by You unconditionally. We love You Lord and thank You.

Only a little while and the wicked shall disappear. You will look for them in vain. But all who humble themselves before the Lord shall be given every blessing and shall have wonderful peace. Psalms 37:10, 11

Thank You Lord for providing Your peace to all who love You. So often Lord it is a peace that passes all human understand. A peace that only You could provide. A peace that helps us let go of our anxiety and trust in You. Oh how we thank and praise You for Your wonderful peace today.

Stop your anger. Turn off your wrath. Don’t fret and worry–it only leads to harm. For the wicked shall be destroyed, but those who trust in the Lord shall be given every blessing. Psalms 37:8, 9

Once again Lord we thank You for our blessings. We thank You for Your blessing of helping us stop our anger, our wrath, our fretting and our worrying. Thank You for helping us put our trust and faith in You. Thank You for Your peace today.
